Hi, I'm Alana Rivera, lover of creative small businesses and founder and creator of purpose driven natural small batch body care company Etta + Billie.

How did it all begin? After receiving a book on soapmaking from my mom, I discovered my creativity and launched my entrepreneurial journey. I founded Etta + Billie in 2009, a sustainable small batch bodycare company inspired by a love for food + drink that donated 1% of profits to fight hunger.

Over the course of the last 15 years, I have moved my business from apartment to a manufacturing studio, hired and trained employees, and partnered with shops like West Elm, Urban Outfitters, Story alongside lovely independently owned shops all across the US, Canada and parts of Asia. My products have been featured online and in publications like Sunset, InStyle, Popsugar,and Refinery 29.

Because of my dedication to environmental stewardship, Etta + Billie became a a certified Green Business in 2011 California and has been a member of Indie Business Network and the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetics Guild since 2009. 

Throughout my entrepreneurial journey one of my favorite things to do (besides make soap) has been connecting with other small business owners. I love listening to their stories, their wins and their struggles. Over the last few years, I've found that my true passion is helping creative product based business owners overcome struggles and strategize the next move. Listening to that inner voice that told me their was a new way for me to help, I decided to downsize Etta + Billie in 2024.
