Whew, what a week we just endured! How are you all doing? Genuinely, my body has been on pins and needles with the anticipation of the presidential election announcement.
The body and mind stores stress in ways that we may never see. Have you considered that you might need some additional self-care after the end of this week?
Allow yourself to unplug and unwind. It’s as simple as that. We’ve seriously become so inundated with more information than our poor minds can handle. If you can, take the day to be in nature. Engage in conversations that have nothing to do with the recent election, and allow your mind to be at ease. Especially in quarantine, it can seem that the only way to remain connected is via our devices and social media. While this is a main vehicle for our connectivity these days, we must monitor and place limits on how much we consume for the sake of our mental health.
I encourage you to read that book you’ve been dying to get to, turn on a podcast, or veg out for a bit on a light hearted and entertaining Netflix show. No need to pressure yourself into the hustle, staying up on the news, or remaining busy. Allow your mind to be at rest!
