Gold Coast Giveaway Vendor Highlight: Findings Market

Findings Market is a very special gem located close to me in Ventura, and I am so glad we were able to team up with her brand for a giveaway! Her market features makers and creatives from surrounding cities such as Ventura, Ojai, Santa Barbara and beyond! The owner, Whitney Riles, has curated a unique selection of artisan products the make you feel the central coast energy! 

The Mercantile

In her store, you can find a special collection of pottery, footwear, textiles and clothing, accessories, candles - and that’s only listing some of the amazing goods she sells! This place is perfect for gifting, celebrating the Caifornian essence, and maybe even treating yourself to a new ware. Whitney describes Findings as “A multi-faceted platform that supports and features local creatives & independent designers.” We love it!

We asked Whitney a couple of questions about her business and its relationship to the California coast!

Why did you start your business?

"I started Findings Market in 2017 as a parking lot pop-up marketplace to gather like minded artisans and makers within the community. I felt there was a lack of curated fairs and markets in our area at that time that spoke to the designers & artists. I wanted to shop from and explore and learn more about. At the time I also worked for a large fashion tradeshow company and was always trying to get my favorite indie designers and creatives to join the large shows and eventually realized that these folks were most likely not ever going to do a tradeshow. So Findings Market became my outlet to work with the creatives I really felt inspired by and in turn I wanted Findings to be the platform to showcase their talents to our local community to explore & enjoy as well."

What is your favorite part about living on the Central Coast?

"I love the balance between the ocean and mountains here, being able to be so close to the water and a hop, skip and jump away from hiking in the mountains is just so special. I'm constantly in awe of the spaces around us here and the beautiful sceneries that surround us. I also love the culture, the beach lifestyle, the people that make up this area, the historical buildings, lack of suburbia in some regards and the incredible small businesses and inspiring creatives that live here too!"

What is your favorite Central Coast spot?

"Could be a beach, a hike, restaurant, etc So hard to pick one! You can never go wrong with a beach day or a beach walk in my opinion. I love walking the beach at Solimar or Faria with our dogs or heading up to the mountains in Ojai and hiking around the river preserve."
